Active Recovery - Belconnen
Active Recovery is a specialised rehabilitation / physiotherapy /exercise physiology practice aimed at reducing symptoms of pain, weakness, loss of strength, confidence and function via an active approach (cognitive functional). Our services range from helping people who are having difficulty returning to their pre-injury duties following a work injury through to people not able to undertake their usual activities of daily living and recreational activities due to an illness or injury. Our approach is holistic, collaborative and focused on improving quality of life. All patients will receive a comprehensive assessment to identify factors which are impacting on their ability to resume their usual activities, including fear of aggravating symptoms and loss of confidence.
Our treatment approach is active, adopting specific movements, postures and activities via graduated exposure and using tools and equipment that simulate or replicate real life situations. Along with education on how to manage an injury, education on pain and the effects of inactivity, patients learn how to become more confident and increase their ability to undertake a range of activities of daily living.
We offer aquatic rehabilitation sessions that are fully supervised, 1 on 1 with a therapist, in the heated hydrotherapy pool at Club MMM and Hugheshydro in Hughes. We also undertake pre-employment screens and offer manual handling training.
