Canberra Hospital - RACC Psychology and Counselling Services
The Rehabilitation, Aged and Community Care (RACC) Allied Health Professionals will see inpatients on the hospital ward or clients who are internally referred to community based services.
Allied Health Professionals work within Canberra Hospital, Rehabilitation Independant Living Unit (RILU), Driver Assessment and Rehabilitation Services (DARS), Vocational Assessment and Rehabilitation Service (VARS), Community Rehabilitation Team (CRT), Falls Clinic, Geriatric Outpatient Clinic, Memory Assessment Service (MAS), Transitional Therapy and Care Program (TTCP), and at Calvary Hospital.
All allied health clients must have identifiable and achievable goals, and realistic expectations towards improvement. For further information on the individual services provided please read each service description, or contact the Community Health Intake (CHI) line on 6207 9977.
- Psychology & Counselling - Neuropsychologists
Psychologists are nationally registered Health Professionals who have trained and studied in diverse aspects of human behaviour. Neuropsychologists specialise in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of psychological disorders associated with conditions affecting the brain (e.g. Traumatic brain injury, stroke, the dementias). Neuropsychology services are provided for Rehabilitation, Aged and Community Care (RACC) clients within acute wards 11A & 12B at The Canberra Hospital, at the Rehabilitation Independent Living Unit (RILU), through the Community Rehabilitation Team (CRT), as well as within the Falls Clinic; Geriatric Outpatient Clinic, within the Transitional Therapy and Care Program (TTCP), and at Calvary Hospital. There are eligibility criteria to qualify for this service, please contact the administrator for further information.

- Psychology & Counselling - Clinical Psychologists
Psychologists are nationally registered Health Professionals who have trained and studied in diverse aspects of human behaviour. Clinical Psychologists specialise in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of psychological and mental health problems (e.g., depression, anxiety), delivering a range of techniques and therapies with demonstrated effectiveness in treating such problems. Clinical Psychologists apply psychological theory and scientific research to work with the patient to solve complex clinical problems with individually tailored programs. Clinical Psychology services are provided for Rehabilitation, Aged and Community Care (RACC) clients within acute wards 11A & 12B at the Canberra Hospital, at the Rehabilitation Independent Living Unit (RILU), through the Community Rehabilitation Team (CRT), as well as within the Falls Clinic; Geriatric Outpatient Clinic and the Transitional Therapy and Care Program (TTCP).
