- Tendinopathy Therapy
This service is provided by an experienced Sports Physiotherapist using high density ultrasound technology in the treatment of tendonitis.
The technology may assist in the treatment of:
- Shoulder supraspinatus and biceps tendonitis;
- Jumper’s knee or patellar tendonitis;
- Planter fasciitis ( with or without a heel spur) and
- Achilles Tendonitis
Tendinopathy is the name used to describe a painful swollen tendon occuring most commonly close to the insertion of the tendon on the bone. Tendinopathies usually occur as overuse injuries or where you have recently increased your exercise levels. Sometimes the tendon tissue actually calcifies becoming stiffer and more like bone.
The most common tendinopathies are of the Achilles tendon at the heel (Achilles tendinopathy), the fascia under the heel pad, (Planter fascitis) and the tendon at the top front of the shoulder (Supraspinatus tendinopathy).
