Belconnen Community Service (BCS) is a regional community service providing services, programs and activities for people in the Belconnen region of Canberra. At BCS we are driven by our vision, Mission and Guiding Principles.
BCS provides programs to a wide range of people in Belconnen, both in partnership and as a sole provider. BCS pride itself on professional and high quality services. Employees advocate on behalf of and promote issues affecting marginalised groups in our communities. We are the primary provider of programs and services dedicated to the Belconnen region.
BCS enjoys strong relationships with its community government and other community services which enhance its capacity to realise its vision of a connected, active and strong community.

- Mental Health Services
Belconnen Community Service (BCS) offers mental health services based on principles of active participation, social inclusion, and therapeutic potential of the arts.
Through our activities we promote creativity and social learning as positive ways of enhancing resilience, positive self-images and emotional well-being in children and young people, individuals and families.
Running integrated classes helps to educate the community, reduce isolation and break down stigmas around mental health.Contact:

Belconnen Community Services Inc. (BCS) provide Provides a range of support options to people who are living independently in the community. We work with individuals in assisting to develop a tailored care plan that is client focused. We can provide information and appropriate referrals to relevant agencies. Our services include a range of "in home" supports such as domestic assistance, personal care, social and shopping support, gardening and minor house maintenance. BCS has it's own trained support workers that will assist you.

- Home care/housekeeping assistance
- Case Management
We provide information, support and case management services for people who are perceived as frail aged, younger adults with a disability and their carers living in the Belconnen region by:
- Assessing their holistic needs
- Providing appropriate relevant information on services
- Assisting with the coordination of multiple services
- Brokerage support may be available to meet some specific requirements
- Shopping Support can be arranged through our supportive shopping program

- Community Bus Program
The Community Bus Program offers a responsive, coordinated, flexible regional transport service for people who are isolated, have mobility, social or other barriers to using mainstream transport. The Community Bus also provides regular shopping trips, monthly excursions to places of interest and Christmas lights tours each festive season. The Community Bus ordinarily operates Monday to Friday from 9.00am to 3.00pm.

- Community Transport
Community Transport is provided to medical and paramedical appointments, social, recreational and adult educational activities, shopping trips and various group activities. Social groups are also included, and this is coordinated by BCS.
Transport is available for the frail aged and those living with a disability and their carers living independently in our community and is focused on promoting the independence and community involvement of program participants.

- HomeBase Accommodation Services
HomeBase provides early intervention support to families who are at risk of losing their accommodation. Its aim is to prevent families from becoming homeless. Assistance is provided to families to stabilise their housing whether this is private rental, public housing or their own homes (mortgages) and financial circumstances.
Families also have direct access to a Centrelink Social Worker, a member of the HomeBase Team. This ensures that immediate assistance is available to ensure that correct entitlements are being received and that any other issues in relation to payments and/or debts, for example, are addressed.

- Social Groups
Belconnen Community Service (BCS) facilitates two social programs:
- Belconnen Energetic Seniors on Tuesday (BEST Club)
- Positive Links
BEST Club is a weekly program offering an opportunity to socialise with others in a friendly and stimulating environment. This group is held every Tuesday at the West Belconnen Leagues Club.
Positive Links is a weekly group offering activities and opportunities for men and women of all ages who have survived a stroke or a physical life changing experience. We especially welcome anyone who has felt isolated at home and wants to join a group for company and friendship.
